Student Accounts
Student Orchestra Credits are now available online via Charms. Please click here and login with your child's student number. All account information will be available there.
All questions and requests regarding Orchestra credits, including student accounts, should be directed to jopatreasurer@gmail.com
Student Credits are earned through orchestra fundraisers and can be used for orchestra-related expenses including music supplies, orchestra apparel, private lessons, instrument rentals, music camps, trips and instrument repairs.
If you would like to use student credits towards any of these expenses, please use the following guidelines:
Music supplies sold at school: The directors stock commonly needed orchestra supplies at school (such as rosin, shoulder pads, rockstops, strings, method books, mutes, etc) to save families from needing to visit a music store. When a student purchases an item at school, the director will take care of getting the credits taken from the student's account. When a student orders apparel or other items from an order form, please be sure to mark the option on the order form indicating that you'd like to use student credits, and the amount will be deducted from the student's account.
Orchestra Trips: Send requests for funds transfers to jopatreasurer@gmail.com, including the student's first and last name and the amount you'd like to have transferred.
Instrument repairs: Send requests for funds transfers to jopatreasurer@gmail.com, including the student's first and last name and the amount you'd like to have transferred.
Private lessons: Let your teacher know you'll be using student credits and request an invoice. Send the invoice to jopatreasurer@gmail.com or submit to your orchestra teacher at school. JOPA will pay the teacher directly from your student account.
Instrument Rentals: For those renting instruments from Guarneri House (formerly Aaron's Instruments) or Baroque Violin Shop, request that an invoice be sent to jopatreasurer@gmail.com or be mailed to the school. JOPA will pay the fees directly to the rental company out of your student accounts.
For those renting instruments from Meyer Music or Marshall Music, continue to pay your rental fee as per your rental contract, and either submit a paid receipt or send in a copy of your credit card statement showing the date and payment amount. JOPA will send you a reimbursement check.
Music Camps: Pay the tuition and send in paid receipts to jopatreasurer@gmail.com or give them to your orchestra teacher. JOPA will reimburse you out of your student accounts.
Other expenses as approved: If you have an expense that isn't listed above and you'd like to use student credits, talk with your orchestra teacher before making the purchase. If it is considered an eligible expense, you and your teacher can discuss how to use the credits, either as a reimbursement or to pay up front.
Upon graduation from High School or withdrawal from the orchestra program, any credits left in a student's orchestra account can be designated to a younger sibling or other student in the program. If credits are not used or designated to another student by June 15 of the student's graduation year (or 60 days after withdrawal from the program), the remaining credits will be transferred to the JOPA Alumni Fund.
